Purpose:
Australian Wildlife Conservancy will launch a three-part Koala conservation project in Queensland. We will partner with a community group to restore koala habitat by revegetating five hectares of cleared land at our Curramore Sanctuary in the Sunshine Coast region. We will also use the 196-hectare sanctuary to conduct two parallel monitoring efforts using separate technologies. This will establish data about the presence and abundance of koalas while also providing an opportunity to compare the effectiveness of both technologies. Further north, we will conduct larger-scale monitoring to establish data about the presence and abundance of Koalas in the far north of their range at our 59,000-hectare Mt. Zero ? Taravale (MZT) Sanctuary in the Paluma region.
