Purpose:
OWAD will perform a non-invasive koala genetic & disease study in the Darling Downs region of South East Queensland, with a focus on and around Pittsworth. Target DNA extracted from koala scats collected by citizen-scientist members of the Pittsworth District Landcare Association (PDLA), will be subjected to a range of key tests and analyses to unveil crucial information about these individuals and identify key population dynamics processes. OWAD will assist PDLA in collecting up to approximately 60 koala DNA samples in this project. A comprehensive report will summarise the relevant spatial and molecular findings that inform effective decision making and conservation action
