The project will construct one recycling module at the Liberty One Steel Whyalla Steelworks, South Australia, to utilise 250,000 tonnes of waste slag and dust per annum, as part of the clean-up of the site.
Purpose:
Community utilisation of the project will be realised through open days and school-group tours of the facility, through 125 jobs created in its construction and operation, and through the remediation of the Steelworks site, using waste to manufacture building products. Those products will abate and absorb CO2 in the manufacturing process, and be supplied to Councils at lower cost than traditional products.
