Purpose:
This project will upgrade the Palm Island Aerodrome to improve safety and ensure compliance under the aerodrome's new 'Certified' status recently designated by CASA. This will include upgrades to pilot activated lighting and the lighting power box, repainting runway line-markings, improving drainage, purchase of in-vehicle ICOM radio, drafting a CASA compliant operations manual for certified aerodromes, and safety training for Aerodrome Reporting Officers (ARO).
