Hanging out at East Coraki: Koalas thriving in an agricultural landscape
Purpose:
Supporting community-led koala recovery by improving resilience & viability of the East Coraki koala subpopulation (ECKS) and its habitat by: removal of weed species from known koala riparian habitat, including Weeds of National Significance; planting of koala habitat trees; fencing plantings where necessary; preparing a Landscape Koala Habitat Management Plan; koala health checks; community field days; and citizen science koala monitoring. These activities will increase the extent, quality and connectivity of habitat in the East Coraki landscape, increase landholder interest and capacity to improve koala habitat, improve data knowledge of ECKS (numbers, habitat use and health), and provide a demonstrable reduction in pressure on koalas and their habitat.
