Purpose:
This is a comprehensive national STEM competition that develops high-level mechanical and mechatronic engineering skills in students through the design, manufacture and testing of a 1 metre long remotely-controlled and powered submarine. This competition requires the demonstration of a range of enterprise skills such as: project and financial management, business and technical mentoring, professional documentation of technical processes, marketing and branding, and the development of strong verbal communication skills. The required technical and enterprise skills solidly align with what the defence force and defence industry are seeking in terms of a future workforce to meet our nation's current strategic needs.
