Purpose:
The project focuses on building community resilience through a benchmarking approach that will evaluate the resilience of 11 small communities and provide a foundation for them to chart a path towards increased disaster resilience.
Supported by a project officer, the communities will benchmark their current resilience, action plan and deliver projects to address identified gaps and weaknesses and build the communitys ability to withstand and recover from disruptions.
Community skills development, networking opportunities and a community forum will form part of the BCRP which will ultimately result in more capable communities with greater understanding of the risks they face and how they can work together to mitigate risks, respond to and recover from disasters.
