Purpose:
The project will increase the area and quality of refugial koala habitat and will expand the Grantchester-Mt Mort koala territory (recovery via revegetation and assisted regeneration). It will improve koala health outcomes by creating a koala tree fodder farm to assist koala carers by providing a local source of food. The citizen science activities will improve the knowledge about the local koala population. Community education programs will inform the wider community about what is impacting koala populations (e.g. effects of cat and dog attacks, motor vehicle collisions; and the importance of retaining, or planting adequate endemic tree coverage). The project will add to the landowners ongoing koala habitat recovery efforts.
