Purpose:
The Lithgow Family Support Program will expand on current programs at headspace Lithgow that support young people in their bushfire recovery journey. It will address feedback that shows families feel overwhelmed and lack the confidence to support a young person going through a tough time. A Family Support Worker will deliver training to parents, siblings and carers in how to recognise the signs of mental ill health and to support a young person in finding a recovery pathway. The program will address the unresolved mental health conditions relating to the 2019-20 bushfires and support families who are feeling overwhelmed and experiencing difficulty finding services to suit their young person.
