Purpose:
Viva Energy will construct three 32 megalitres diesel tanks at its Victorian facilities which will bolster fuel security and improve the competitiveness of one of Australia's two remaining refineries. With an overall project capital cost of AUD$69 million, construction of the tanks is expected to take around three years. In an important boost for Victoria, it is estimated that 95% of the project construction and engineering costs will be from local firms. Project works will cover construction of foundations, bunding, tankage, fire safety systems and piping to connect the new tankage to the facility(s) main jetty and export pipelines. The new tanks will provide a range of benefits including reduced freight costs, increased days of diesel stock cover and improved refinery optimisation.
