PBS Program Name:
DCCEEW 21/22 Reducing Aus Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Grant Program:
Soil Carbon and Methane
Grant Activity:
Establishing technical accuracy of soilcarbon sensors on Australian soils
Purpose:
WA based Agtech Company SensorC has designed and developed a soil probe for measuring soil organic carbon (SOC), bulk density (BD) and soil moisture (SM) that is locally manufactured in WA. This is believed to be the first soil carbon probe of its type globally. This project will determine the technical viability of SensorCs in ground SOC measuring probe on Australian soils. The probes will be used to measure SOC levels both in lab and in field, then validated against soil sample testing using the current gold standard lab testing methods. Soil site locations will include cropping, pastoral, grazing and horticultural production systems.
