Purpose:
This excursion will provide an opportunity for 20 regional students from Port Macquarie to experience real world applications of STEM subjects, in particular the natural sciences. This will deepen their knowledge and understanding on the application of STEM and its significance in finding solutions to health and sustainability issues in a changing world. The students will visit several STEM based locations during Science Week 2023, including the Australian Museum, the Museum of Applied Arts and Science, Sydney Institute of Marine Science and Taronga Zoo, all of which will allow them to explore the key concepts of the Science and Technology syllabi as well as the opportunity to observe firsthand, career opportunities in the Sciences.
