Purpose:
The New England North West region has recently experienced a range of unprecedented natural disasters. Compounded traumatic events have far-reaching and long-lasting impacts to a community and can negatively impact mental health and wellbeing.
The Remote School Resilience Program is aimed at small remote schools who often miss out on service and program opportunities due to geographical isolation. The program will involve a mix of counselling, tailored groups for students, individual supports for students and families and a sporting element.
The aim of the program is to increase resiliency amongst students, increase the mental health and emotional wellbeing of the students, and the wider family of the school and community.
