Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants
Grant Activity:
Treeline Lurline: tree planting, power underground, public domain upgrade
Purpose:
Treeline Lurline is a collaboration between community, business and government to create a spectacular tree-lined boulevard between Katoomba town centre and the Three Sisters at Echo Point, a Gundungurra sacred site and NSWs most visited regional attraction. Lurline Street is in urgent need of renewal and revitalisation. The proposed whole-of-precinct refurbishment and tree-planting will transform this important local and visitor thoroughfare into a golden mile of seasonal colour, shade, gardens, active transport, street furniture, art, and an interpretive trail of the built and cultural heritage over 20,000 years. Underground power lines and water sensitive urban design will ensure the healthy growth of the trees.
