Purpose:
The project will upgrade five bridges on Jingellic Road, Wantagong, allowing them to accommodate heavy mass load (HML) vehicles. This will increase economic productivity and resilience in the region. The bridges are at Serpentine, Fish, Scent Bottle, Spring and Wantagong Creeks. Widening and strengthening of the bridges are required as identified by bridge analysis and this is supported by regional strategic plans to extend the operational life of the bridges. The works will ensure safer travel for the community, provide a compliant road network for local agribusiness and forestry, increase resilience of the road network and reduce lifecycle costs including a reduction in ongoing maintenance costs.
