PCYC Far South Coast Bushfire Recovery Youth and Community Re-Connect Project
Purpose:
PCYC Bushfire recovery Youth and Community Re-Connect project has four project components involving a full time Youth Worker:
1) Case management for young people affected by the bushfires aged 10-17 living in rural towns and localities to improve mental health and re-connect with community, education or employment opportunities;
2) After school programs for children and young people to strengthen community ties, mental health and fun physical activities;
3) Community events to bring people together, share experiences and create opportunities for positive mental health recovery; and
4) Pre employment fishing programs to encourage positive engagement and develop employment pathways for likely early school leavers aged 14-16.
