Dhupuma Barker - VEX Robotics World Championships
Purpose:
Eight Indigenous Yolngu students from Dhupuma Barker competed in the National VEX Robotics in December 2022, finishing 4th in the country. They have now qualified for the World Championships to be held in Dallas Texas USA in April/May 2023. This is the first team to ever represent students from a very remote community, the NT and now their country. The students had only been introduced to STEM through Robotics in July 2022, and with only a few short weeks of training, have flourished to become nation leaders. This is an exceptional outcome for the students who now inspire all Indigenous students from across Australia to engage in STEM learning through Robotics.
