Soil Carbon and Methane
Grant Activity:
Validation and deployment of carbon sensor probes in Australia
Purpose:
Fellow WA company SensorC has designed and developed an in-ground soil probe to measure soil organic carbon (SOC), bulk density (BD) and soil moisture (SM). This is believed to be the first soil carbon probe of its type globally.
The project will undertake a deployment and validation study at sites in WA and NSW to demonstrate technical viability, commercial potential and value for money. The study will utilise modelling software from FarmLab to create stratas based on satellite remote sensing of terrain, soil type and land use. The study will be testing the viability of the combination methodology using the modelling to extrapolate from ground truthed soil carbon probe measurements.
