Removing and value-add processing treeskilled in the Cudlee Creek Bushfire
Purpose:
Many properties in the Cudlee Creek Bushfire scar still contain trees/plantations killed by the fire but still standing. The longer they are left standing, the greater risk they pose; to life, livestock and property, as well as being fuel for future bushfires. Unfortunately, estimates for the works required to remove the trees far exceed the financial capacity of many landholders. For those affected, this remains an urgent unmet need resulting directly from the Cudlee Creek Bushfire.
This project will facilitate the felling and processing of these trees into value-added products, which will have a number of beneficial outcomes for the landholders and provide an opportunity for economic stimulus for the broader Adelaide Hills community.
