Grant Activity:
High throughput validation of genomic variants in Indigenous Australians and their contribution to kidney and immune disease
Purpose:
Indigenous Australians have some of the highest rates of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in the world. It has been estimated that one of the greatest risks for the development of CKD in these communities is genetics. This project is a national collaboration to understand and prove the genetic basis contributing to high rates of CKD. Through understanding the unique and shared basis for CKD in Indigenous communities across Australia, we can improve detection and treatment for these groups.
