Purpose:
Through this project, Mort & Co Lot Feeders Pty Ltd will demonstrate feasibility of a holistic technology solution for the adoption of feeding nitrates to grazing cattle for methane abatement. Project activities include 1) Holistic software development; 2) Manufacture a consistent intake supplement block; 3) In-paddock monitoring, and 4) Registration of a carbon farming project. Project outcomes include a) Nitrate toxicity risk management; b) Development of a suitable dispensing mechanism; c) A viable method of recording pasture quality and quantity; d) A practical block intake recording instrument, and e) A holistic software to generate livestock information to design methane avoidance projects.
