Australian Junior Professional Officer (JPO) and Secondment Program

The Australian Junior Professional Officer (JPO) and Secondment Program is designed to achieve Australian Government objectives. This grant program contributes to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s (DFAT) Outcome 1 – the advancement of Australia’s international strategic, security and economic interests.
The Program is a key component of Australia’s multilateral engagement strategy. It will help to develop a pipeline of Australian professionals who could, in the long-term, progress to senior leadership positions in multilateral organisations or return to Australia to build multilateral expertise in the Australian Government.
Grants will be restricted to multilateral organisations
Grants under this Program will be provided to multilateral organisations, which will be selected by DFAT in consultation with other relevant Australian Government agencies. There will not be an application process. Multilateral organisations will be identified and selected to participate in the Program based on Australia’s national interests and policy priorities.
