Description:

This grant opportunity is a one-off investment in the capability of the national peak community based organisations critical to the national public health response to blood borne viruses (BBV) and sexually transmitted infections (STI). In particular, it provides eligible organisations with resources and support to:

• strengthen their capability to evaluate the impact of their current and future activities; and

• design and deliver complementary evidence-based activities that support achieving the goals and targets of the five National BBV and STI Strategies 2018-2022.

The grant opportunity forms part of the Health Protection and Emergency Response Program (HPERP), that aims to protect the health of the Australian community through the provision of support for:

• effective national leadership and coordination; and

• initiatives that strengthen Australia’s capacity and capability to detect, prevent and respond to threats to public health and safety arising from communicable diseases, natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and other incidents that may lead to mass casualties.

Eligibility:

This is a closed, non-competitive grant opportunity. The eligible organisations are listed below and at Section 4.1 of the Grant Opportunity Guidelines.

Organisations are not required to submit any additional documentation for this grant opportunity.

• Australian Injecting and Illicit Drug Users League, ABN 20 467 449 392

• Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine, ABN 48 264 545 457

• Hepatitis Australia, ABN 38 442 686 487

• National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation, ABN 89 078 949 710

• National Association of People with HIV Australia, ABN 79 052 437 899

• Scarlet Alliance, Australian Sex Workers Association ABN 86 612 112 065

The organisations listed as eligible all have pre-existing relationships with priority populations identified in the BBV and STI Strategies. We will only consider applications that satisfy all eligibility requirements.

Instructions for Application Submission:

The organisations eligible at section 4.1 of the grant opportunity guidelines are not required to submit an application for this grant opportunity, as they have already provided a sufficient response to the criteria for this grant opportunity.
