Description:

This grant opportunity is one of two grants announced as part of the Chronic Wound Consumables Scheme (CWCS): for people with diabetes Budget measure. The CWCS: Advanced training for nurses and AHWs (scholarships) grant opportunity will commence in December 2023 and finish on 30 June 2027.

This grant opportunity aims to support nurses and Aboriginal Health Workers (AHWs) to undertake formal education and short courses to improve best practice wound management in primary care settings. The purpose of this grant opportunity is to provide scholarships for training courses; Graduate Certificates in Wound Care and one flagship Masters in Wound Management. The government is seeking to improve nurse and AHW capability across Australia, including rural and remote locations.

Eligibility:

To be eligible, you must be one of the listed organisations and have received an invitation to apply from the department.

Eligible Organisations:

  • Australian College of Nursing (ABN: 48 154 924 642)
  • Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association Limited (ABN: 30 390 041 210)
  • Wounds Australia (ABN: 69 104 482 963)

The list of eligible organisations was determined by the department as they have the required subject matter expertise and/or experience in delivering targeted scholarship programs. The eligible organisations are invited to apply for this grant opportunity as they have been assessed to have:

  • demonstrated capability to deliver the project activities in the project locations
  • existing infrastructure and relationships to support the project activities
  • appropriate cultural awareness
  • community linkages, and
  • experience, knowledge and capability to deliver the project objectives and outcomes.
Total Amount Available (AUD):

$1,073,000.00
