The Structural Adjustment Fund (the Fund) will run over 3 years from 2023–24 to 2025–26. The program was announced as part of the Government’s 2023–24 Budget.

The purpose of the Fund is to support the employment of people with high support needs, and assist the sector to evolve in line with the guiding principles for the future of supported employment (guiding principles) through the provision of grants. The department anticipates there will be a variety of approaches suitable for these grants, therefore does not intend to be prescriptive about what grant activities will be eligible. However, all grant activities must clearly align with the guiding principles, and support people with high support needs to progress towards their employment goals.

This is the first of 2 grants rounds that will be run under the Fund. The second round is expected to open in the second half of 2024.

Up to $20 million is available through this first grant round. Grants can be 12 or 24 months, and most grants are anticipated to be between $50,000 and $500,000 (GST excl.).
