Description:

The purpose of the grant is to provide funding to Clean Up Australia and Keep Australia Beautiful to deliver programs and campaigns that will raise awareness of the impact of litter and to prevent and reduce litter entering the environment.

The objectives of the grant are to:

§  reduce the amount of plastic and other litter entering and impacting the environment to conserve and sustain Australia’s natural environment, ecosystems and biological diversity 

§  raise awareness of the negative impacts of litter to Australia’s biodiversity, ecosystems and species and promote the protection of ecosystems, natural habitats and the maintenance of viable populations of species in natural surroundings

§  contribute to actions under the Threat abatement plan for the impacts of marine debris on the vertebrate wildlife of Australia’s coast and oceans (2018) including:

§  limit the amount of single use material entering the marine environment in Australia

§  improve public communication about consumer waste and litter.

The intended outcomes of the grant are:

§  less plastic and other litter in the environment

§  increased awareness of the negative impacts of litter to Australia’s natural environment, ecosystems and biological diversity.  

Eligibility:

To be eligible you must be the listed organisations: Clean Up Australia (ABN: 93 003 884 991) and Keep Australia Beautiful (ABN: 35 743 600 611).

Total Amount Available (AUD):

$1,200,000.00

Estimated Grant Value (AUD):

From $600,000.00 to $600,000.00

Instructions for Application Submission:

The applicant will be invited to apply and submit an application through an online portal.

Other Instructions:

Each grant will be a maximum of $600,000 over five financial years from 2023-24 to 2027-28.

The project must be completed by 31 March 2028.
