Remote Primary Health Care Manuals (RPHCM) Project
The RPHCM are a unique set of manuals designed to support good clinical practice in primary health care in Central, Northern and remote Australia.
The objectives of the grant are to:
• foster consistent best practice clinical activity in primary health care centres in central, northern and remote Australia by reviewing, updating and enhancing, producing, distributing and promoting new editions of the RPHCM and RPHCM Reference Material in a manner that reflects current best practice in clinical guidelines development; and
• enhance the support services (IT, publication and distribution services) and quality improvement activities required to achieve the above objective in a timely, effective and efficient manner.
The intended outcomes of the grant are:
• produce an up-dated suite of evidence-based RPHCM reflecting current best clinical practice and culturally safe clinical practice;
• publish (hard copy and electronic versions – including HTML and E publication versions) the next editions of the CARPA Standard Treatment Manual, Women’s Business Manual, Clinical Procedures Manual for remote and rural practice, Medicines Book for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners and RPHCM Reference Book;
• integrated publication across the manuals, and the supporting reference documents;
• distribution of the hard-copy editions to all primary health care centres delivering services to Aboriginal people in remote areas of the Northern Territory; and
• increase the uptake of electronic versions of the manuals.
Only the Centre for Remote Health (Flinders University) on behalf of the Remote Primary Health Care Manuals Joint Venture are eligible to apply for this grant opportunity.
$4,500,000.00
