Description:

The purpose of this grant opportunity is to support the expansion of the Trailblazers component of the Heywire Program. It contributes to the achievement of the outcomes of the Australian Government’s Health Workforce Program by improving health outcomes for regional, rural and remote Australians. Heywire increases awareness of health and wellbeing issues among youth and their communities in regional, rural and remote Australia, and empowers and supports youth to find local solutions to these issues.

The Trailblazers component of the Heywire Program celebrates regional, rural and remote Australians aged 18-28 with a commitment to making regional Australia even better, and features their work on the ABC.

The objectives of the grant are to:
• support the expansion of the Trailblazers component of the Heywire Program;
• foster and champion young people working on projects that strengthen regional communities; and
• provide greater opportunities for young leaders who are driving regional development and implementing locally-grown solutions to issues in their communities.
