The Australian Government has announced funding of up to $66.1 million for the establishment of the new Structural Adjustment Program. The program will support residential aged care providers to improve their business operations, support the sale transition of ownership of a business to another provider, or support an orderly close of operations and exit the market from the sector of providers where appropriate. The program will run to 30 June 2023.

The Structural Adjustment Fund (SAF) for Residential Aged Care grant opportunity is a closed, non-competitive funding round aimed at organisations who wish to exit the aged care market.

The SAF will provide funding to support aged care providers to transition ownership of a residential aged care facility to another approved aged care provider or close their residential aged care facility.

To be eligible to apply under this grant opportunity you must be:

• an aged care provider who can demonstrate why government intervention is required for your commercial business dealings or service closure

• invited to apply by the Department of Health.

• operational residential aged care facilities in Australia including all NATSIFAC residential providers, and local Government residential aged care providers

• written agreement for project activities from the Board of Directors (or equivalent).
