Description:

The purpose of the grant is to provide emergency grant funding for urgent improvements and upgrades to security measures, including upgrade and installation of new fencing, upgrade of staff car park, staff duress systems and interim on-site security personnel, to ensure the safety and security of care recipients and staff at Germanus Kent House in Broome, Western Australia.

The objectives of the grant are: 

• to address the urgent need for installing and upgrading critical security measures to ensure the continued safety of residents and staff

• to support the aged care service provider to continue to provide quality aged care services in a remote area, in a situation that poses a risk to the safety of aged care recipients and staff, which is outside of the service provider’s control.
