Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) - COVID-19 Emergency Support for Tier 1 / Tier 2 clients

The objective of this grant is to provide assistance through limited financial support to existing CHSP service providers to enable them to respond to unforeseen and exceptional circumstances that directly impact on existing service delivery arrangements that are beyond the control of the grant recipient.
The intended outcomes of the grant are:
- provide existing CHSP providers with the financial security to respond to emergencies (ie natural disasters, World Health Organisation declared pandemics) while maintaining client care continuity; and
- fund the delivery of high-quality care, support and services to existing residential aged care facility (RACF) residents who opt for temporary Emergency Leave due to COVID-19 and who are approved for CHSP support while residing in the community.
Until 30 June 2022 this grant opportunity provided grant funding for two groups of CHSP Providers, Group A CHSP Providers delivering any activity type(s), including applications from RACF residents taking emergency leave due to COVID-19, and to Group B CHSP Meals providers.
From 1 July 2022 this grant opportunity is restricted only to providers seeking funding for services provided to RACF residents that have opted to take Emergency Leave due to COVID-19 and who have been approved to receive temporary CHSP services while they reside in the community.
