The Indigenous Australians' Health Programme (IAHP), provides funding for a range of activities including those focusing on primary health care, child, maternal and family health and chronic disease prevention and management. 

The purpose of the grant is to support primary prevention activities for First Nations young people by encouraging healthy lifestyles through physical activity and education sessions. The objectives of the grant are to: 

• Continue to deliver the Pathways to Excellence Basketball Program.

• Continue to deliver the Girls Football (FX) program.

• Deliver education components that cover healthy eating, mental health, resilience, teamwork, drug and alcohol use and healthy relationships.

• Engage with First Nations people to deliver the program and review the service delivery and business practices through an evidenced based, external evaluation.

The intended outcomes of the grant are to:

• Deliver sustainable education, training, and skills for local First Nations people to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles.

• Deliver effective and efficient services using an evidenced based approach to ensure the best possible outcomes are achieved by participants in the programs.

The eligible organisation is considered to have established administrative and infrastructure arrangements that will help the Department deliver the activities quickly and efficiently. The eligible organisation is considered to provide the best value for money in the delivery of these activities based on previously demonstrated ability to successfully deliver these activities.
