Indigenous Australians' Health Programme - Enhanced Syphilis Response (Phase Four)
The purpose of the grant is to support the Enhanced Syphilis Response (Phase Four) to address the outbreak of infectious syphilis in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations in affected outbreak regions.
The objectives of the grant are to:
- Assist in controlling the current syphilis outbreak in Queensland and the Northern Territory.

Undertake opportunistic control efforts for other Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) and Blood Borne Viruses (BBV) (secondary).

Consider the long-term sustainable response to STI and BBV issues in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, in-line with the National BBV and STI Strategies for 2018-2022 (tertiary), with the ultimate goal of reducing rates of STI and BBV to a sustainably low level.
Grant funding of up to $1,111,359.00 (GST exclusive), from the IAHP is available for this grant opportunity. It is expected the grants will commence during the 2019-20 financial year and will expire at the end of the 2020-21 financial year (30 June 2021).
