Description:

The Australian Government has committed up to $186.18 million, over four years for the Australian Cancer Nursing and Navigation Program (the Program), under the grant program: Improving Cancer Outcomes: Cancer Care Nursing and Navigation Measures.

This grant opportunity is for Activity 4 of the Program. Up to $36.38 million for cancer Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) to deliver specialist telehealth information, support and advice for patients with particular tumour types.

The objectives of the Program are to:

  • Design and implement a cohesive and consistent approach to providing high quality, culturally safe and evidence-based tumour specific information, support and advice for patients, as an integrated component of the Program.
  • Enhance the capacity of the NGO sector to ensure more people with cancer can access timely, tailored and specialist telehealth support they need throughout the continuum of care.

The intended outcomes of the grant opportunity are to:

  • Improve equitable access to specialist telehealth support for all cancer patients by increasing the number and capacity of Commonwealth-funded telehealth professionals across the cancer NGO sector.
  • Improve collaboration and integration of the specialist telehealth services with other cancer services delivered across the continuum of care.
