Apunipima Cape York Social and Emotional Wellbeing (ACYSEWB) Centres
The purpose of this grant opportunity is to provide a range of activities that focus on mental health services, drug and alcohol services, social and emotional wellbeing services, and prevention of early intervention to the remote Cape York communities of Aurukun, Coen, Hopevale and Mossman Gorge. The SEWB Centres will improve the mental health of people living in remote communities that have little or no access to mental health services, such as Medicare subsidised mental health care services.
The objectives of the SEWB Centres Grant Opportunity are:
- to provide integrated, culturally appropriate and safe mental health services that holistically address the mental health, healing and drug and alcohol issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Cape York target communities of Aurukun, Coen, Hopevale and Mossman Gorge who would otherwise have little or no access to Medicare subsidised mental health care services; and
- to deliver those services through a systemic approach to services for treating substance misuse, addiction and related mental health co-morbidities; addressing family violence; confronting denial and promoting self-responsibility; facilitating pathways out of treatment to employment and education.
As this is a closed non-competitive grant opportunity only the organisation listed at Section 4.1 in the Grant Opportunity Guidelines - Apunipima Cape York Health Council Limited, is eligible to apply.
