Medical Research Future Fund – International Clinical Trial Collaborations Grant Opportunity

This competitive grant opportunity will provide support for Australian research teams to conduct clinical trial research in collaboration with international counterparts. Applications to this grant opportunity must propose a single clinical trial that will achieve the following outcomes: promote Australian involvement in international collaborative investigator-initiated clinical trials research through the establishment and co ordination of clinical trial site/s in Australia; and provide high-quality evidence of the effectiveness of novel health treatments, drugs or devices in ‘usual care’ settings, which will support a decision on whether to deliver the intervention in an Australian setting. Novel health treatments include new and innovative applications of existing interventions.

Applicants are advised to read the Grant Guidelines thoroughly and liaise with the Administering Institution that will submit the application to identify any specific requirements that the Institution might have.
NHMRC will conduct three Peer Review Cycles per year (with the exception of one cycle in 2018). Refer to Section 8.2 of the Guidelines – Application Process for more details on the key dates for rounds in the 2018 and 2019 calendar years.
Applications must be submitted electronically using NHMRC’s online Research Grants Management System (RGMS).
Minimum Data closes at 5pm ACT local time on 27 March 2019 for the first round in 2019.

Up to $42 million in funding is available from the MRFF over four financial years. Up to $4.2 million will be available for each Peer Review Cycle.
