Description:

The SRSA Program provides rural specialists with access to professional support and training opportunities not available in their region.

The Program seeks to address the issue that professional isolation is a major cause of specialists leaving rural practice by providing education and networking opportunities targeted at the continuing professional development (CPD) needs of rural specialists.

The purpose of this grant is to extend current funding arrangements for the SRSA Program across 2022-2025.

The SRSA Program objectives are to make a difference for health and healthcare provision in rural and remote Australia.

The program aims to:

  • provide support and training via online learning programs; and
  • provide individual grants to enable rural specialists to access training not available in their local area.

The intended outcomes of the grant opportunity are:

  • assist in the retention of medical specialists; and
  • enhance the quality of clinical care.
