Primary Health Care Quality and Coordination Program: National Health Call Centre Network
As part of the 2022-23 Budget the Australian Government committed to continuing the National Health Call Centre Network, known as Healthdirect Australia Pty Ltd for an additional four years and provided an additional $12 million over two years (2022-23 to 2023-24) to continue to support Victoria’s participation and to meet additional demand. This brings total funding for the four year (2022-23 to 2025-26) extension to $175.7 million (GST exclusive).
The Network aims to improve access to health services and provide accurate, trusted health information for Australian communities, particularly disadvantaged groups including those in rural and remote locations. The Network uses innovative technology solutions to increase access to health practitioners and manage the pressure on the health care system.
