Description:

This Level Crossing Safety Data Improvement Project grant opportunity (the grant) is part of the Regional Australia Level Crossing Safety Program. The grant will support improvements to data and risk assessment at level crossings, which will enable road and rail infrastructure managers to better target level crossing protections and prioritise crossings for upgrade. The grant will improve the amount and availability of data about risk at level crossings nationally and is not constrained to regional level crossing data.

The objectives of the grant are to:

  • increase and improve available level crossing data to help better inform rail safety stakeholders about level crossing risk and risk mitigation at particular crossings and in aggregate, and
  • increase collaboration and data sharing opportunities between rail safety stakeholders including the Department, the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR) and states and territories in relation to level crossing data.

To be eligible to apply you must be the listed organisation and have received an invitation to apply.

You are not eligible to apply if you are an organisation, or if a project partner is an organisation, included on the National Redress Scheme’s website on the list of ‘Institutions that have not joined or signified their intent to join the Scheme’.
