This grant opportunity aims to establish and deliver a National Digital Information Hub (Digital Hub) under the Commonwealth’s Thriving Kids commitment (Budget 2026–27). The Digital Hub will expand accessible, evidence-based information supports for families, carers and kin of children aged 8 and under with developmental delay and/or autism, and low to moderate support needs, as well as for professionals working with them.

The Digital Hub will provide a central online platform offering:

• practical information, tools and resources on child development, developmental delay and neurodevelopmental difference

• practical resources families can use to support their child

• a service finder tool/service intake directory to help users find appropriate supports and link to state and territory service intake points.

Content will be inclusive, neuro-affirming, accessible (including available in multiple formats and languages), and informed by lived experience and expert input. The Digital Hub will work alongside related national and state services, ensuring alignment and effective referral pathways.

Overall, the grant seeks to:

• improve access to high-quality, reliable information on child development, developmental delay and neurodevelopmental difference

• improve access to tailored information for children and families with intersectional experiences

• address knowledge gaps and reduce stigma

• empower families to support their child’s development, identify concerns early, and access appropriate supports.

The eligible organisation was determined based on their demonstrated capability to deliver the grant activities, supported by existing infrastructure, governance, and stakeholder relationships. This organisation has a proven track record of delivering similar projects effectively, aligning with the grant’s objectives and outcomes, and offering value for money in the current market.

Eligible organisation/s must partner with an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led organisation/s to deliver the Digital Hub. This is to ensure the Digital Hub delivers culturally safe and appropriate information for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families. Refer to the Grant Opportunity Guidelines and Frequently Asked Questions for details of the partnership requirements and when this partnership must be established by.

A closed non-competitive selection process was chosen to ensure continuity, minimise duplication, and maximise the impact of public investment by leveraging the expertise, infrastructure, and performance history of the most suitable provider/s.
