Closing the Gap – Major Capital Works Program
The Major Capital Works Program supports the strengthening of the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) sector through improved infrastructure. This Program will provide funding to deliver both new and renovated health clinics, and associated housing for health professionals.
Only ACCHS that currently deliver primary health care are eligible to apply for this grant opportunity. This is the first of a two-stage process - the Expression of Interest (EOI) stage. Only applications that are shortlisted in the EOI stage are invited to provide further information in Stage two.
The intended outcomes of the grant opportunity include the:
- improvement of access to primary health services through safe and accessible, fit-for-purpose health infrastructure
- support for recruitment and retention of health professionals through access to safe and secure staff housing
- system level support to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander primary health care sector to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of services, consistent with Priority Reform Two under the National Agreement on Closing the Gap - Build the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled sector.

To be eligible your organisation must be an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service currently delivering primary health care and be listed at Appendix A of the Grant Opportunity Guidelines.
