Description:

The headspace Plus grant opportunity provides funding to upgrade 30 existing headspace centres to a new enhanced headspace Plus model.

The purpose of this grant opportunity is to assist PHNs to support the establishment and delivery of headspace Plus services through the Primary Mental Health Care Schedule. The objectives of the grant opportunity are to strengthen and broaden the existing headspace model of care by:

• Better supporting more young people with higher intensity mental health needs

• Boosting service capacity to meet growing demand 

• Increasing the delivery to multidisciplinary care to better respond to diverse factors contributing to clinical complexity 

• Expanding and increasing early intervention and prevention activities through dedicated community awareness

• Enhancing culturally safe and inclusive mental health support tailored for young people from priority populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) and LGBTIQA+SB communities

• Supporting the integration of headspace Plus centres with Youth Specialist Care centres, and the broader youth mental health service landscape

• Facilitating flexible and timely responsiveness to the dynamic mental health needs of local youth populations 

• Strengthening and broadening data collection and reporting systems to ensure high-quality, timely insights while adhering to safe and responsible First Nations data governance principles

• Bolstering the co-design of locality-specific services, including wellbeing and clinical supports, drop in and appointment-based counselling, service navigation, outreach activities, programs in schools and care coordination
