Description:

The Australian Government is inviting organisations in an open competitive process to apply for funding under the ‘Our Marine Parks Grants Round 4’.

The objectives of the grant opportunity are to:

  • Support Traditional Owners to maintain their traditional knowledge, cultural sites and values associated with Sea Country in Australian Marine Parks.
  • Enhance the capacity of Traditional Owners to engage in marine park management.
  • Develop and implement management solutions to help enhance the health and ecological resilience of the Australian Marine Park network, including in the face of climate-related changes and other emerging pressures.
  • Support research and monitoring that aligns with Australian Marine Park science priorities and will help inform the 10-yearly statutory review processes for marine park management plans, and protection of marine park values.

The department will be running Application Support Seminars during the application period for this grant opportunity. More information can be found on the Australian Marine Parks website.

Eligibility:

To be eligible you must be one of the following entity types:

  • Indigenous Corporation
  • Company
  • Cooperative
  • Corporate Commonwealth Entity
  • Corporate State or Territory Entity
  • Incorporated Association
  • Local Government Entity
  • Non-corporate State or Territory Entity
  • Non-corporate State or Territory Statutory Authority
  • Statutory Entity
  • Non-corporate Commonwealth Statutory Authority.

If you are applying as a Trustee on behalf of a Trust, the Trustee must have an eligible entity type as listed above.

Grant Activity Timeframe:

Assessment of applications - within 12 weeks from the closing date

Approval of outcomes of selection process - within 21 weeks from the closing date

Notification to applicants - within 22 weeks from the closing date

Negotiations and award of grant agreements - within 30 weeks from the closing date

Earliest start date of grant activity - May 2024

End date of grant activity - May 2027
