Description:

This Kaden Centre - Exercise Physiology Services Grant Opportunity (the ‘grant’) will run over four years from 2022-23 to 2025-26.  This grant contributes to the achievement of Program 1.5: Preventive Health and Chronic Disease Support, through which the Australian Government seeks to Support Australians to live longer in full health through reducing the rates of harmful alcohol consumption, illicit drug use, and tobacco use; and increasing healthy eating patterns, levels of physical activity and cancer screening participation.

The grant will build on existing capacity within the Kaden Centre ensuring the continued operation of Kaden’s targeted oncology exercise programs to people experiencing all stages of cancer and chronic conditions.

The Primary Health Network (PHN) responsible for the region where the Kaden Centre is located is the Hunter New England Central Coast (HNECC) PHN.

The HNECC PHN will be required to undertake the following activities in accordance with the variation to the schedule within the existing Agreement between the department and the HNECC PHN: 

  • administer grant payments to the Kaden Centre in an effective, timely and efficient manner over four financial years; and
  • provide the department with regular reporting on the operations of the Kaden Centre, including:
  1. report on the number of patient services being utilised through the Kaden Centre, categorised by the different services the Kaden Centre provides;
  2. provide budget expenditure reporting against the services provided, including staffing costs, client assessment costs, and administrative and operational costs to support the program; and
  3. report on activity outcomes to the department and liaise with the department on any program matters.
