National History Challenge
The Australian Government is inviting one organisation via a restricted process to apply to deliver services in the 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 calendar years under the Early Learning and School Support Program - Quality Outcomes Support component and Civics and Citizenship Education Sub-Component over 4 years from 2020–21 to 2024–25.
The Challenge is funded through the Civics and Citizenship (CCE) Sub Program that was established to promote students’ participation in Australia’s democracy by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, values, and dispositions of active and informed citizenship. The CCE Program entails knowledge and understanding of Australia’s democratic heritage and traditions, its political and legal institutions and the shared values of freedom, tolerance, respect, responsibility, and inclusion.
Through the competition, students are supported to develop a greater understanding of Australia’s shared values, culture, and traditions. The Challenge rewards students with prizes and travel opportunities.
