Ad hoc, one off grant to Sydney WorldPride Limited (ABN: 17 637 769 218)

This grant aligns with the Australian Government’s work on building markets and attracting visitors through priorities under The Reimagining the Visitor Economy (THRIVE) 2030 strategy.  

The objective of the grant is to provide one-off support to Sydney WorldPride 2023 of up to $1 million to support the Sydney Harbour Bridge Pride March.

The intended outcomes of the grant are:

1. Increase in international visitor travel including actual travel and consideration and intention to travel to Australia as a result of watching or engaging with the Pride March
2. Showcasing Australia as a safe, inclusive and diverse destination for visitors, particularly for the LGBTQI+ community
3. Ensure the event is accessible and environmentally sustainable

This grant program contributes to achieving policy priority 6 of the THRIVE 2030 strategy, build markets and attract visitors.

The Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade/we) will administer the grant. We administer the grant according to the Commonwealth Grants Rules and Guidelines (CGRGs).

WorldPride Limited as part of this grant must undertake a research and evaluation piece in relation to the outcome of the grant.

This grant is only available to Sydney WorldPride Limited, ABN 17 637 769 218.

The grant covers costs associated with the World Pride Day March held on 5 March 2023.

Sydney WorldPride Limited will submit a proposal to Austrade in line with the grant guidelines. To submit the proposal:

• send it via email to Nicole.Poort@austrade.gov.au no later than 5pm (AEDT) on 28 February 2023.
• provide all the information requested
• address all eligibility and assessment criteria
• include all necessary attachments
