Indigenous Australians' Health Programme - Trauma Assessment, Referral and Recovery Outreach Teams Project
The purpose of this closed non-competitive grant opportunity is to continue the Trauma Assessment, Referral and Recovery Outreach Teams (TARROT) project. This grant opportunity will support ongoing implementation of the TARROT project and enable an independent evaluation of it to examine a broad range of qualitative and quantitative outcomes.
The TARROT project was developed by Ngaoara Limited and applies a child-centric approach to identify and address the developmental, emotional and behavioural impacts of trauma in order to contribute to breaking the intergenerational cycle of dysfunction that affects some Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families.
The TARROT project is tailored to the needs of the community in which it is implemented and has established multidisciplinary in-reach and outreach teams to provide primary care, allied health and specialist intensive case management using cultural care plans to identify and manage existing health, wellbeing and behavioural issues of children and families. The TARROT project undertakes capacity building activities to support services, staff and families of children affected by trauma in providing trauma informed care.
