Description:

The European Joint Programme on Rare Diseases (EJP RD) brings together the research efforts of over 130 institutions from 35 countries in the field of rare diseases.

International organisations have joined forces to carry out a joint call for proposals for transnational cooperative research projects in the field of rare diseases, the EJP RD Joint Transnational Call (JTC) 2022. The MRFF is participating in this Call.

The objectives of the MRFF 2022 MRFF Joint Transnational Call grant opportunity are to provide grants of financial assistance to support Australian medical research and medical innovation projects that develop new analytic tools and pathways to accelerate diagnosis and diagnostic monitoring (including undiagnosed cases) of rare diseases.

The intended outcome of the research is to improve the health and wellbeing of Australians by improving diagnosis and providing better treatment options for those with a rare disease.

To be competitive for funding, applicants must propose to conduct research that delivers against the objective set out in the grant guidelines.

For this grant opportunity, up to $1.0 million of funding is available in 2022-23 to support the Australian component of the research as outlined in the grant guidelines.

This grant opportunity is being administered by NHMRC on behalf of the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care.
