Purpose:
Village Energy has developed a software and hardware platform that manages demand and supply of electricity in real time and is uniquely designed to fit the cost structure and problem set of rural communities (particularly in developing countries) who suffer from unreliable energy supply. Implementing this platform can potentially improve grid operator gross margins by more than 20% and improve rural energy reliability by as much as 30%.
Accelerating Commercialisation support will be used to help Village Energy implement their first pilot customers in India and demonstrate earnings improvement for the grid operator
