Grant Program:
Development Grants
Grant Activity:
Building Synthetic DNA Controls for Oxford Nanopore Sequencing.
Purpose:
The mutations that cause many cancers are often missed using current sequencing technologies because they are too large and complex. Our partner, Oxford Nanopore Technologies, developed a long-read sequencing method that can detect these complex mutations, but is too inaccurate and unreliable for use in clinical laboratories. We will build synthetic controls that improve the accuracy of long-read sequencing, and enable its use to diagnose mutations that are otherwise missed in cancer patients.
